Welcome ISGA students.

As you know, your school is taking the time to offer you a fun, easy-to-understand introduction to golf brought to you by the ISGA. Your first question was, of course, Why Golf?

You were told that golf is a sport you can learn now and play for a lifetime. Some of golf’s greatest didn’t even play golf until they were in college. You don’t need to be a physical freak to be good. And girls, you can be as good as any of the guys. And there are a lot of college scholarships for women that go unused because there aren’t enough women playing golf to use them!

You also were told when you walk 9 holes you have great time outdoors on a beautiful piece of land with some of your good friends while walking 3 miles! Can you think of a better way to get in some fitness work?

The ISGA will teach you many basics of golf, and not just the swing mechanics. You will learn everything you need to feel comfortable on a course including basic rules, etiquette, scoring, great players, and a little history. You will learn what the four big tournaments are that everyone is talking about.

But most of all, you take the ISGA School Course to have fun. Enjoy yourself, and remember you are starting a life journey that will allow you to try new shots and new strategies over many years. The ISGA program will have you hitting the ball solidly very quickly, but have patience and don’t worry about results too quickly.

Golf has a reputation for being a sport for rich social men.  Golf is a sport for ALL of us. Just look at the top golfers in the world. They are from all kinds of backgrounds, all ethnic derivations, and all continents. And golf can be very affordable.
